Learn Thai Massage in Pattaya and Chonburi

Pattaya and Chonburi hold Thailand’s densest cluster of spas and hotel massage shops, so graduates find work fast. Our Pattaya campus, courses and job routes.

Short answer

Pattaya and Chonburi are the strongest locations in Thailand to begin a massage career because they have the country's densest concentration of massage shops and hotel spas, a high-tipping international clientele, and year-round staff shortages. Graduates find work within a few kilometres of the school. Michael Thai Massage School is in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung, Chonburi.

If you are starting a massage career, where you train matters more than people expect — not because the syllabus differs, but because the job market around you differs enormously.

Why Pattaya and Chonburi have the advantage

1. The densest concentration of massage venues in Thailand

Within ten kilometres of the Nong Prue–Bang Lamung area there are thousands of health massage shops, hotel spas, resort spas and foot massage venues.

That means when you graduate, you do not need to move city to find work. The work is already around you.

2. International clients push tips above the national average

In ordinary neighbourhood shops tips run 20–50 THB per treatment. In tourist areas serving European, Russian and Middle Eastern guests, 200–500 THB per treatment is routine.

Tips are what separate two therapists' incomes by a factor of two, for identical hours.

3. Year-round staff shortages

Pattaya draws visitors nearly all year, not only in high season, so shops need therapists continuously rather than seasonally.

4. The widest possible practice experience

Clients here range from Thai office workers to European retirees with knee problems, athletes with muscle fatigue, and tourists straight off a flight.

Practising on that variety while still studying prepares you far better than only working on classmates.

Where the school is

We are at 17/1-2 Moo 13, Sukhumvit Road, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung, Chonburi 20150.

What the location gives you:

  • Directly on Sukhumvit Road, easy to reach by songthaew and local bus
  • A few kilometres from central Pattaya
  • Surrounded by affordable daily and monthly accommodation
  • About two hours from Bangkok

Coming from elsewhere — what to prepare

Accommodation — monthly air-conditioned rooms in Nong Prue start around 4,000–7,000 THB, and daily guesthouses cost a few hundred baht. Message us on LINE with your budget and we will recommend options at no charge.

Duration — the 150-hour course takes about 19 days full-time, or can be split across weekends if you still have a job.

Total cost — beyond tuition, budget roughly 8,000–15,000 THB for accommodation and food during the course.

After graduating — many students are hired locally straight away and stay. Those who prefer to return home take a certificate and registration that are valid nationwide.

Can I train here and open a shop back home?

Yes, and we encourage it.

Many students come to Pattaya specifically for the teaching standard and the experience with international clients, then take those skills back to their own province — where the difference in service standard usually makes them stand out immediately.

What if you are in Bangkok?

We also have a Bangkok campus at 152 Srinagarindra Road, Bang Na, directly at BTS Si La Salle — same courses, same standard. Read more in Learn massage in Bangkok.

Frequently asked questions

Where should I stay while studying?
Nong Prue and Bang Lamung have plenty of daily and monthly accommodation, from a few hundred baht a night for fan rooms to roughly 4,000–7,000 THB a month for air-conditioned rooms. Tell us your budget on LINE and we will recommend places near the school, free of charge.
Can I train in Pattaya and work in another province?
Yes, anywhere in Thailand. The certificate and registration are valid nationwide. Many people choose Pattaya specifically to practise on an international clientele, then return home to work or open a shop.
Do I need English to work in the Pattaya area?
Not fluently, but basic working phrases help a great deal — asking about pressure, asking the client to turn over, asking where it hurts. We teach the phrases actually used at work, which raises tips immediately.
